About Me
I am a multidisciplinary artist from Colombia, and my work is a celebration of women and their diverse experiences around the world. My inspiration flows from nature and its deep connection to feminine energy, and my art carries the vibrant spirit of my African and Latin roots.
My creative journey began with a degree in graphic design, where I worked with fashion brands and community projects in my home country. In 2016, I moved to Melbourne, Australia, a chapter that allowed me to explore new artistic techniques, exhibit my work, and collaborate with other artists. By 2021, I discovered the path of mural painting and began my career with a leading hand-painted advertising company. In 2023, I relocated to Barcelona, Spain, where I pursued a postgraduate degree in Illustration and worked as a teaching artist, further expanding my practice.
Now based in New Jersey, I continue to weave my story through art. I have collaborated with organizations such as the Museum of Urban Arts and Artolution in New York. In 2025, I was honored to be part of the NYFA Immigrant Artist Program, a cohort of 19 immigrant artists shaping their careers, and I also participated in the Mural Arts Philadelphia Training Program.
Murals have become my greatest passion, a way to share my colorful worldview on a large scale and leave a lasting imprint on the communities I connect with. At the same time, I keep exploring different media, always seeking new ways to tell stories that reflect resilience, belonging, and the beauty of our shared humanity.
Let’s Work together
I’m Karena a mural artist whose work beautifully blends nature and femininity, creating vibrant, empowering representations of women.
